NaughtyBounty and Patreon compared
NaughtyBounty vs Patreon: membership with tiers against single commissions and ready-made Drops. Comparison table covering payment and choice.
Patreon funds a person so they can keep working. NaughtyBounty pays for one specific thing you want. Both are a deal between two people, they just come together at completely different points.
Here are the two models side by side, so you can see which fits what you are looking for.
The short version
| NaughtyBounty | Patreon | |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | one specific thing | ongoing support for a person |
| No monthly payment | wallet, you pay per thing | one-off payments possible depending on the page |
| Content on request | Challenges as a built-in feature | sometimes a reward on higher tiers |
| What you get is agreed upfront | theme and scope in the Challenge | the tier describes it roughly |
| Money held until delivery | on Challenges | not applicable, you support continuously |
| Supporting one person over time | following works, there is no membership | built for exactly that |
| Earning without reach | open Challenges and your own Drops | you need an audience first |
| The platform promotes your profile | directory, homepage, Fresh Talents | depends on the page |
Two different core ideas
Patreon is a membership. You pay monthly to support someone in what they are doing anyway, and in return you get access to tiers with different amounts of content. The core is the relationship over time, not the individual piece.
NaughtyBounty is a commission. You describe in a Challenge what you want to see, put a reward on it, and Models apply. Or you take a Drop, a finished package that is yours immediately. Either way you are paying for a result, not for belonging.
Supporting or ordering
The difference sounds small but is fundamental. With a membership, what gets made is the decision of the person being supported. That is the point of it: you fund someone's work because you want that work to exist.
With a commission it is the other way round. You say upfront what you want, and someone decides whether they make it. Theme, format and scope are fixed before anyone applies.
Anyone with a specific idea in mind gets there faster the second way. Anyone wanting to back a person over the longer term is better served by the first.
No subscription, no tiers
On NaughtyBounty there is no recurring payment. You top up your wallet and spend what you actually grab. Nothing runs in the background, nothing needs cancelling.
There are no tiers either, because there is nothing to buy into. Instead of a membership unlocking certain content, you buy the single thing.
For Models: audience or commissions
A membership only works once enough people are there who want to support you. That assumes an audience, and building one takes time.
NaughtyBounty flips the order and does the promoting for you. The platform is built like a social network: your profile runs in the directory, on the homepage and in the Fresh Talents row, where new Models get a spot of their own simply because they are new.
Earning happens through open Challenges, which are open to everyone, and through your own Drops, created once and sold again and again. No follower count in between. How the start works is on the Models page.
What happens after you buy
With a membership the support is running, so there is nothing to wait for. With a Challenge there is time between payment and delivery, and that is exactly what we cover: your money is held and only released once the work is delivered. With a Drop the question does not arise, it is with you the moment you buy.
After that everything is in one place, privately in your Gallery. Before you buy you only see protected previews, watermarked and scaled down. Full quality comes after payment, and the unwatermarked original has already been discarded by then.
Which one suits what
If you want to make someone's work possible over a longer stretch and do not mind what comes out of it in detail, a membership is built for exactly that.
If you have a specific idea, or simply want something finished, NaughtyBounty fits better. Immediately as a Drop, or made only for you as a Challenge. Either way you pay once, and afterwards it is yours.
