How content protection actually works
Watermarks, reduced previews and discarded originals: what happens technically before anyone sees your content, and where the limit is.
"Your content is protected" is written on every platform. What sits behind it is rarely written anywhere. So here is what actually happens before anyone else gets to see a file.
The point up front, because the whole principle rests on it: the protection is not on the file someone receives. It consists of that file not containing the detail in the first place.
Before purchase there is only a reduced version
Before a User sees a file, it is heavily pixelated and blurred, scaled down to a low resolution and overlaid with dense watermarks.
The purpose is narrow: you should be able to check whether the work matches the request. You should not end up holding anything usable without paying. Both at once only works if the preview is deliberately bad.
With a Drop it runs slightly differently. There you see the cover and exactly the media the Model marked as previews. Everything else stays private until purchase.
Why AI cannot restore anything from it
This is the question everyone asks now, and the answer is pleasantly simple.
The reduction happens on our servers, before the file leaves our systems. So the original detail is not in what someone receives in the first place. AI can only reconstruct from information that is there. Where there is nothing, there is nothing to get. What a model produces in that situation is not a restoration, it is an invention.

Full quality only after payment
The clean files are only released once payment has happened. Until then, only the reduced version exists for the other side.
That is also why the order on this platform is what it is: first the money sits set aside, then the work is delivered, then it is released. Content protection and payment protection are the same principle seen from two sides.
If something shows up anyway
No technical protection replaces cleaning up afterwards. If purchased content turns up somewhere again, we go after the re-upload and get it removed. What you can do yourself if something turns up off the platform is covered in Photos leaked: what you can do now.

Where the limit is
Honesty belongs here, because this is where a lot of platforms promise too much.
What we can prevent: unprotected files going out before payment. Previews being usable. Watermarks being computed away. Re-uploads staying up.
What nobody can prevent: someone photographing their own screen. Every platform in the world has that limit, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling you something. What helps against it is not technology but the fact that checked people with something to lose are on the other side, and that there is a way to report violations.
